Democracy Works Foundation (DWF) has been implementing the Southern African Political Parties and Dialogue (SAPP&D) Programme in six countries, including Malawi, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and Zambia, since 2017.
The programme seeks to strengthen the ability of political parties in the targeted countries to develop and implement participatory policies around access to sustainable water supply, clean water, and clean energy, using evidence-based knowledge, while at the same time enhancing a democratic political culture that supports the meaningful participation of women, youth and marginalised individuals.
SAPP&D also aims to facilitate networking and learning across political parties in the Southern Africa region to share best practices, lessons and knowledge on their engagement in energy and water resources management and strengthen democratic structures and practices.
