Climate Change remains one of the biggest threats to our existence, potentially reversing some of the advances in working toward a more just and equitable world.

In Africa, where too many people are concerned about what to feed their families that evening, building a social compact around Climate Change is challenging. It falsely appears to be a problem we only have to worry about in the future.

DWF recognises that one of the climate and development-linked responses that hold specific opportunities is facilitating cross-sectoral relationships. This can unlock resources and expertise in addressing community-driven and climate-related development challenges through:

  • Understanding the impact of Climate Change on governance and democracy in Southern Africa
  • Drive policy that will ensure inclusive and green economies
  • Help ensure no one is left behind; a just transition
  • Cross-sector collaboration towards a new economy and climate adaptation
  • Understanding the impact of climate change on governance and democracy in Southern Africa
  • Strengthening civil society collaboration for a new economy and climate adaptation
  • New leadership for a new economy and climate mitigation and adaptation.

Climate for Growth – Fostering Inclusive Growth through Climate Change Champions (FIGCCC)
