Resilient Democracy is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable consensus democracy. We strengthen resilient democracy through 5 programmatic areas of work: monitoring democracy, strengthening institutions and systems, training democrats and leaders, strengthening democratic culture and we work on governance and climate change.  With headquarters in South Africa, DWF works through its country offices to provide tools to develop resilient democracies. We operate across several Programmatic areas.

DWF South Africa office is looking for expert consultants (or a team of consultants) who have experience working with CSOs, local government, and who have knowledge of the climate change space:

  1. A consultant (or team) to provide ongoing mentoring and coaching to CSO partners.
  2. A consultant (or team) to develop curricula on the broader overall theme of “Strategic Communication and Negotiations”.
  3. A consultant (or team) who will develop curricula on participating in climate change budget and resource-related decision making.
  4. A consultant (or team) who will develop a baseline assessment in municipalities that are relevant to the project.
  5. A consultant (or team) to develop two curricula on the broader overall theme of “Climate Change and Municipal Management”.

Democracy Works Foundation (DWF) is a Southern African non-profit organisation focused on democracy development in the region by providing tools to develop resilient democracies: inclusive, equitable and sustainable consensus democracy. DWF strengthens resilient democracies through 5 programmatic areas of work: monitoring democracy, strengthening institutions and systems, training democrats and leaders, strengthening democratic culture, and working on good governance and economic governance. DWF and the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) are implementing a 42-month project called “Putting Youth and Women at the Centre of Inclusive Economic Growth (PYWEIG)” with financial support from the European Union Delegation in Lesotho targeting Butha Buthe, Leribe and Maseru districts. The programme aims to strengthen the socio-economic development and employability of youth and women in Lesotho.

DWF Lesotho seeks the following expert consultants:

  1. to undertake the development of a comprehensive training curriculum on inclusive local economic development; and
  2. who will develop a training curriculum and modules on understanding how government works for inclusive economic growth.

DWF is implementing a U.S. Department of State project in Angola, the CSO Capacity Building for Credible Local Elections (CAB4CLE) Project.  With the 2022 local government elections as a starting point, the project is designed as an iterative process involving learning, standards development, capacity development, building democratic cultures, and civic participation.
